Last month our title was “Go Time!” so it seems only appropriate for both the World Cup and our country’s 250th anniversary that we stick with our Go theme but change to it to Go USA. Our household is very excited to celebrate the 4th of July and cheer on the US soccer team in the world cup!

You might have to use your imagination a little to make our “Go USA” title fit this month’s real estate newsletter, but it is certainly possible if we think about it in terms of market changes. For example, did you know that the mortgage rates are lower in June 2026 than they were in June 2025 by .34%? While one third of a percent doesn’t sound like a big move, a buyer who bought a house at the median sales price last month of $375,000 would save over $100 a month on their monthly payment compared to last year. Though these changes initially seem small, they certainly add up over time. Go USA!

Here is the chart showing the interest rates over the last year according to Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey.

While the national real estate market may not be able to cheer too loudly, our local housing market continues to be able to shout go! The number of listings and sales are both higher than a year ago, and median sales for May 2026 was $375,000, which is 1.65% higher than May 2025. Here is the chart showing our local numbers from the Real Estate Information Network (REIN):
